The Glaucus & Raven Progress

I made small, but steady progress on the Glaucus and Raven knives last weekend. Shop time was limited, but productive. I'm excited to see how these knives are going to finish out. So far, I'm very pleased with the look of each and can't wait to get them done.

For starters, I was able to get the scales and bolsters all attached to the liners with the hidden screws from the back. I sure hope that this works. In retrospect, I probably should have done one knife this way so that I don't mess up two knives if things go south. Oh well. The spoils go to the brave I guess.

The rest of my shop time was working on getting the caged bearing pockets milled out and fitting the pivots. My counter bore finally showed up, so I was able to complete this step. Here is one of the Raven liners getting a bearing pocket milled in.

Here are the two knives side by side. The Raven (top) has the pivot completely assembled and the Glaucus (bottom) has the top liner left off to show how things fit together. The caged bearings make for a very smooth pivot action. I'm pretty dang excited about how these are coming together.

This next weekend I hope to finish out the handles and get the blades heat treated. I need to get these done ASAP as custom orders are starting to pile up. Nick Shabazz did an Instagram post and a YouTube primer on a little Bobcat that he purchased from me and that has really boosted my orders. He will be doing a full YouTube review of the knife soon and I expect another big bump when that happens. So, if you're interested in placing an order, I suggest you get your name on my list and get ahead of the rush.

Thanks for following along with me on this build. Have a great week.
