The Pride Knife is Complete

September 24, 2017

Another build came to an end today, and what and end it was!  This knife turned out absolutely beautiful. Here are some pics of the final few steps that brought this build to its conclusion.

The blade bevels have been ground in and polished up to a mirror.  I originally planned to finish this blade with a mirror finish, but I changed my mind later on.

Here's the blade after a 600 grit hand-rubbed satin finish.  I really love satin finishes.

Here are the liners with the jeweling detail added to the inside surfaces.  These liners are sitting on my new mini mill, which I'm really loving.

Here is the left liner getting the lock bar cut in on the new mill.  I'm really going to like having this new tool around.  It's going to open up a lot of new possibilities for my knife making.

Lock bar cut in and ready to be sanded.

Time to set the lock.  This is done by filing the face of the lock bar until it mates up with the tang perfectly.

The liners have been anodized, the detent ball has been pressed in, and the lock bar face has been carbidized.  These are going to look great next to the lightning strike carbon fiber spacer and scales.

The blade gets marked with my stencil and electro etcher.

And here is the final product.  It looks absolutely awesome!  I know I almost always say that the last knife that I make is my favorite, but I think this one is going to be a favorite for a very long time.  Here are a couple more pics of the finished knife

Well, that was certainly a fun build.  I love it when a knife turns out even better than imagined.  Thanks for following along on this build.  Now, what to do for the next one?
